A protest march was taken out from Magra Ganj against the alleged assault on BJP workers and the seizure of files at the Magra BDO office. The march escalated into tension after clashes broke out between the protesters and the police in front of Magra Police Station, creating a volatile situation in the area.
Following the clash, BJP workers staged a road blockade by sitting on the road, leading to heavy traffic congestion. The blockade disrupted vehicular movement and caused inconvenience to commuters, with the protest continuing for nearly 45 minutes.
State BJP leader Bhaskar Bhattacharya, along with party leaders Swaraj Ghosh and Suresh Saw and several district leaders, were present during the protest. Later, a delegation of BJP leaders was sent to the Magra Police Station as the situation gradually came under control, reports said.
